If I could spend all of my time doing one thing for the rest of my cavalier life, I would spend every second, every hour of every discontented day making you feel excruciatingly, deliriously, truly happy. I would take you to drive-in movies and learn how to make your favorite foods. I would spend thunder filled nights planting kisses on your eyelids, and verbalize with my fingertips how much I really love you. I would read your favorite books to you, making sure that I make every character sound distinct-as is your fancy. I would hold you without muttering a word when you have “one of those days.” I’d spend sleepless nights conjuring up new and electric ways to have you smile my way. I’ll make you feel like a kid again-free, with me. I’ll make the phobias that accompany life seem irrelevant, vulgar even. I’ll waltz with you when you’re feeling lonely. I’ll accidentally step on your toes, embarrassed, only to have you throw your head back in laughter as I watch you cleanse my life of sorrow. I’ll learn about your flaws, and I will love you all the same. There’s no telling where we’ll be. Separate now, together later. Or separate now and for forever. However we are, all I know is that my days are not mine without you.
